Harvest has once again come and gone, along with the emotional roller coaster it brings with it. There is so much excitement and anxiousness that leads up to it, and by the end it is dragging out and you would give anything to be done with it. Jake has only been farming on his own since 2008, but this was our best harvest yet with average yield. If only we could say the same about the price of wheat!

We had minimal setbacks and breakdowns, and are feeling incredibly blessed. My knee healed in time that I even got to spend a couple of days running the combine and could give Jake a little break. The boys did awesome this year with getting their routine thrown completely out the window. There were some nights we didn’t get home until well after 10 pm to do baths and bed. I’m amazed at how much harder it is to keep our schedules during the summer. I would rather their trade early bedtime for quality time with dad any day.

As with every harvest there were laughs, parts runs, a couple cuss words, and minimal tears.
