I got to spend some quality time with the combine tonight. It was nice to give Jake a break and have some quiet time (kind of). He was still in the grain cart, but at least he got out of the combine for awhile. He kept telling me I could go home if I was tired, but that poor man has been getting maybe 5 hours of sleep a night. I can spare one night of staying up late to let him rest a bit.

I know it would be different if I had to run it as much as Jake, but I find it so relaxing (when I’m not breaking something). It gives me time to think and unwind. Then I put on an awesome concert for myself and sing my lungs out. I’m not the only one who does that, right? Oh, I am? Okay then.

We also learned today that our little farm kid is a fish! He has never really been around water or swam much, but his swimming lessons are going awesome. He jumps off the side, goes underwater, and can kick until the cows come home. I expected tears and screaming but I’m so proud of how good he is doing.

Today was a great day full of laughter, errands, and love.
